Cambrian Park, is a west San Jose community well known as one of the more affordable, high-value areas in Silicon Valley with good public schooling options, numerous shopping & dining options and a very convenient location. Nestled between Los Gatos, Campbell, West San Jose & Willow Glen, Cambrian is centrally located in the Silicon Valley for quick commute to either Peninsula or East Bay tech employers, and puts Cambrian residents within close proximity to several popular downtown areas, such as Willow Glen's Lincoln Avenue, N Santa Cruz Ave in Los Gatos and Campbell Avenue in Campbell.

Cambrian Park offers many local attractions of it's own including the famous Cambrian Park Plaza featuring numerous boutiques, restaurants, convenience stores & a bowling alley. In addition to many smaller locally owned stores & dining establishments, Cambrian also boasts many big name stores scattered throughout the community including Home Depot, Target, Orchard Supply, Walgreens and many more.

The name "Cambrian Park" was used regularly since the 1950s by the then San Jose Mercury and San Jose News newspapers to refer to a portion of the Union school and Cambrian school district areas, the latter school named in the 1870s by ranch hand David Lewis of the Jeremiah D. Casey Ranch for Cambria, the Latinized name for Wales (Welsh, Cymru), the country of Lewis's birth. Due to the relative isolation of adjacent population centers within then rural Santa Clara County, place names and later, municipalities, were often defined by their public school service boundaries. These indistinct boundaries persisted until WWII, after which a rapidly expanding population and demand for municipal services resulted in more precise boundaries being established.
